UKSPM 2010 Conference, 30 June - 1 July 2010, at ExCeL London

The UK’s scanning probe microscopy community gathers each year at the Royal Microscopical Society’s UKSPM conference. This meeting brings together researchers, practitioners and companies from across the discipline. It continues to grow and attracts many registrants from mainland Europe.

The RMS welcomes abstracts for oral or poster presentation on all SPM related topics. It is also promoting opportunities for early career researchers such as PhD and post-doc students, and young academics.

UK SPMThe 2010 event will be held during MICROSCIENCE 2010 – Europe’s leading conference and exhibition on microscopy and imaging. This provides delegates with access to nearly 100 exhibiting companies and an unmatched opportunity to network and socialise.

The conference will cover a range of topics associated with scanning probe microscopy including main techniques such as atomic force microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy as well as more specialised versions of these. A wide variety of applications will be explored. This will include biological molecules, biomaterials, polymers, crystals, metal and catalyst surfaces, nanostructures, and nanomanipulation, plus instrument and probe development.

The scientific organiser is Dr Laurent Bozec and the meeting is a collaboration between the RMS and the London Centre for Nanotechnology. Further details at www.rms.org.uk/UKSPM
