Sub-micrometre X-Ray Micro-Tomography Systems from Photonic Science

PSL delivers an X-ray tomography system that allows a 3D reconstruction down to sub-micrometre resolution at up to 100 keV operation. The instrument records a series of radiographs at different angular positions for bone, foams, stone, and high density components such as integrated circuits, composites and polymers down to 0.4 micrometre minimum feature recognition.

PSL Xray TomographyThe total acquisition time is in the range of few seconds per frame for light elements, and tens of seconds for heavier Z elements. Two scan modes are available: continuous rotation, to complete a full data set within minutes; or point-to-point rotation allowing absolute accuracy and/or positioning. 3D reconstruction is performed instantly thanks to the massively parallel calculation on multi-graphic processing unit (GPU) machines.

The system comes in a self-contained tabletop X-ray cabinet with remote control capabilities and fully motorized controls for adjusting resolution and/or contrast. The low cost of ownership and limited maintenance, combined with a very intuitive Graphical User Interface makes the system extremely attractive for both academic as well as industrial customers.
