Andor Technology was showing its new scientific CMOS (sCMOS) technology, which it introduced a few months ago. By early 2010, the company expects to introduce products using the technology, which overcomes trade-offs of current scientific imaging technology.

Other products coming from the company include a differential confocal system. Planned for a spring launch, the confocal module, light source, and computer will cost around $100,000.  The technology, which combines structured light with spinning disk illumination, was invented by Professor Tony Wilson and colleagues at the University of Oxford.

Coming in the summer, is Andor IQ 2.0, the new version of the company’s live cell imaging software. The software will have python scripting ability, and this open source programming capability will let users customize the software to do anything they would like.
